Aslef union calls off Southern Railway strike ballot over 'technical difficulties'
A strike ballot of Southern Railway workers by the biggest train driver’s union has been suspended because of "technical difficulties".
The result of the ballot, called in a dispute over driver-only trains, had been due within two weeks.
Aslef said it will reissue ballot papers to almost 1,000 drivers.
A series of further strikes are already planned by the Rail, Maritime and Transport union in a dispute over the role of conductors.
The last 48-hour walkout ended on Saturday night.
