Moment lorry driver stops traffic to let out 'stream of migrants'
The shocking moment the driver of an onion lorry stops traffic in Dartford to let out a what look like a group of migrants from the back of his vehicle was caught on film.
The footage, filmed by the driver behind and given to ITV News, shows the lorry driver opening the back doors before a succession of three men and two women jump out and run away. The driver filming the scene can be heard swearing and exclaiming 'I've never seen anything like it in my life'.
A spokesperson for El Mosca - the Spanish company that owns the lorry - told ITV News that migrants had been found inside the truck, but the driver was not aware of this until alerted to banging and shouting by other motorists. They claim the driver followed all proper checks and blamed an error in the system that controls the lorry doors for the suspected migrants getting in.
Kent police said it was called to two incidents relating to suspected migrants yesterday, but say that none of them have been found.
