The Motorcycle Action Group have today claimed that cycle superhighways are 'a waste of money' and make roads more dangerous for motorcyclists.

The group called for a rethink of London's expanding cycle network - claiming that the superhighways slow down traffic and increase pollution.

The statement comes after London business chiefs asked Sadiq Khan to come up with 'new and innovative' ways to keep the city moving - reconsidering the cycle superhighway scheme was one of their proposals.

TfL said the addition of cycle superhighways has generally seen a higher capacity of moving people and disagreed with the claim that they have increased congestion.
