Police are appealing for information after a woman may have been forced to get into a car by three men.

It happened on Monday at 8.45pm in East Ham.

A man and woman were seen walking in Plashet Grove near the junction with High Street North.

Police say the couple appeared to be arguing and the man was pushing the woman and "manhandling" her.

Witnesses say the couple were then joined by two other men and the group walked in the direction of Katherine Road.

They then flagged down a car and it is believed she was forced inside. At least two of the men then also got into the car.

Police say the car was a grey or silver coloured four door hatchback car - possibly a VW Golf.

The man is described as white, aged in his 20s, of stocky build with short hair and a clean cut appearance.

He is approximately 5ft 7ins tall and had a square shaped face. He was talking on a mobile phone during the incident.

The woman is described as white, aged in her 30s, of slim build with reddish, curly hair.

She is about 5ft 3ins tall and was wearing jeans, a striped top and a brown jacket.

Both are believed to be of Eastern European origin.
