A man has been 'viciously' beaten up in fight outside pub in west London, Scotland Yard said.

Detectives in Ealing are appealing for witnesses and information after a man was viciously assaulted outside a pub in Hanwell.

Police were called by London Ambulance Service shortly after 2am on September 24 to a man assaulted outside the Duke of York pub in Station Road, Hanwell

When police arrive they found a 32-year-old man suffering head injuries was taken to hospital in a critical condition. His injuries were later described as not life threatening.

Detectives in Ealing CID are investigating this GBH.

At this early stage it is understood the victim got into a verbal altercation with two men outside the pub.

During the fight one of the two men punched the victim knocking him to the floor. The second of the two men continued to punch the victim as he lay on the floor.

Both suspects then fled the scene. Initially they used a blue Vauxhall Astra reg LS04 NPU, but this car was found abandoned in streets at the rear of the pub.

One suspect is described as tanned or Asian in appearance, around 20-30 years-old, approx, 6ft tall with short dark hair and was wearing a white shirt, jeans and a leather jacket.

The other suspect is also described as tanned or Asian in appearance, around 20-30 years-old and approx. 5ft 6ins tall dark with short dark hair and a beard and was also wearing a white shirt.

  • A 19-year-old man was arrested in West Ealing later on 24 September on suspicion of GBH and taken into custody at a west London police station.
