Man killed confronting moped thieves outside his home
A murder investigation is under way after a gang of moped thieves attacked a father and son outside their home.
The men, aged 27 and 46, suffered knife wounds when they confronted up to four men attempting to steal a moped in Chadwell Heath, east London.
The gang then fled the scene, at Gibbfield Close, at around 1.35am on Tuesday without the moped.
Both father and son were taken to an east London hospital where the younger man was pronounced dead in the early hours of Wednesday.
His father remains in hospital, although his injuries are said to not be life-threatening.
Scotland Yard later announced two male suspects had been arrested on suspicion of murder.
Witnesses or anyone with any information are asked to call police via 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
