'Heart-wrenching': how the mother of Michael Sandford described seeing him in prison

The mother of Michael Sandford, who was arrested for grabbing a policeman's gun at a Donald Trump rally, has visited him in prison.

The 20 year-old was arrested in June at the rally in Las Vegas. It is claimed he told police he planned to shoot the Republican Presidential candidate.

However, Lynne Sandford has said her son has mental health conditions including autism. She is hoping he will be transferred to the UK to serve any jail sentence.

Yesterday, she was finally allowed to visit her son in Las Vegas though the two of them were separated by a mesh screen. Afterwards, she spoke exclusively to ITV News:
