Britain's ugliest building? Luxury London flats win Carbuncle Cup

The Lincoln Plaza residential complex near Canary Wharf has been named Britain's ugliest building in the annual Carbuncle Cup.

Judges from the architectural magazine Building Design described the two 31-storey towers as "a hideous melange of materials, forms and colours."

The magazine's editor Thomas Lane described it as "the worst building amongst a swathe of mediocrity" in the South Quay area.

Galliard Homes said its "scheme sold out to buyers, so clearly the project is liked by the purchasers".

Disagree with judges? You can still snap up a three-bed in the block for £800,000.
