Police have released CCTV video footage of a stabbing in east London as officers appeal for information.

Detectives from the Trident and Area Crime Command investigating an assault have issued CCTV footage of two men they wish to identify and speak to in connection with the incident.

On May 1 police were called at around 5.10am to a report of a stabbing in Gillett Square, Hackney.

Officers from Hackney were on patrol in the early hours in Gillett Street when the victim, a man aged in his mid-20s, ran into police after being chased by two suspects, and said that he was stabbed.

CCTV captured the moment the victim was attacked.

  • Suspect 1 is described as a black man of average build with his hair tied back on top of his head. He was wearing a grey hooded top with a yellow “A&Fitch” logo on the front, jeans and dark shoes.

  • Suspect 2 is described as a bald black man of large build. He was wearing a light hooded top with a print on the front, dark coloured trousers and light shoes

Police are keen to hear from anyone who may recognise the men or who witnessed the incident.
