A City worker has appeared in court accused of killing a man after his shoe was thrown out of a minicab window.

Alexander Thomson, 32, was on a night out with friends when he allegedly punched Thomas Hulme in the head.

They were in a cab with two other people in Farringdon Street on Friday night when the incident happened.

Mr Hulme, 23, from Tooting in South London, died in hospital the next day.

Thomson appeared at the Old Bailey charged with his manslaughter.

He was granted conditional bail and will return to count on September 26 for a plea hearing.
