Man arrested on suspicion of 'single punch' murder of Oliver Dearlove
A man has been arrested on suspicion of murdering Oliver Dearlove, who was killed by a single punch during a night out.
Mr Dearlove was assaulted in Tranquil Vale, Blackheath, in the early hours of Sunday and died in hospital less than 24 hours later.
A post-mortem gave the provisional cause of death as intracranial haemorrhage.
The 30-year-old, of Eltham, south east London, was with friends and waiting for a pre-booked taxi when he was attacked.
A 31-year-old is currently in police custody after being arrested on suspicion of murder and on suspicion of actual bodily harm.
Police believe one of Mr Dearlove’s friends was assaulted, before Mr Dearlove was struck causing him to collapse.
