Users of Southern Railway may face fewer delays and cancellations from next week.
On Monday the company plans to reinstate over a hundred services from a total of around 300 that were cut from the timetable in July.
The firm blamed the changes on high levels of staff sickness.
A 48-hour strike planned by Southern workers over new working conditions is expected to go ahead next week.
