Police seize £2,000 of 'laughing gas' nitrous oxide and bins of booze at Notting Hill Carnival
Canisters of nitrous oxide - more commonly known as 'laughing gas' - and lager which were being sold illegally have been seized by police at the Notting Hill Carnival.
Metropolitan Police licensing officers working at this weekend’s Notting Hill Carnival have seized over 150 canisters of nitrous oxide from Wormington Road, Kensington and Chelsea. The canisters have a street value of over £2,000.
Metropolitan Police licensing officers also seized over 500 cans of lager from a man engaged in illegal street trading in Westbourne Park Road. The man was selling the drinks out of a wheelie bin.
Both investigations have now been referred to Trading Standards officers from the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and MPS officers from Westminster Police.
