Police seize drones carrying drugs and mobile phones heading for Pentonville prison

Police in Islington, north London have seized two drones carrying drugs and mobile phones which were flying towards Pentonville prison.

On Sunday August 14, officers recovered a drone after tracking it fly over Pentonville prison before it crashed.

Later in the day, the police were notified of another drone being flown towards the prison.

A day before in the early hours of August 13, officers from the Metropolitan Police's Operation Airborne, spotted a man acting suspiciously close to the jail.

The man escaped an arrest after noticing the police. He ran from the scene, dropping two bags containing Class B drugs and mobile phones.
