If London was a country where would it sit in the Rio Olympics medal table?

London athletes scooped gold medals in 12 different events.

Such a medal standing would put London in 7th position, ahead of countries such as France, South Korea, Italy and Australia.

London athletes also claimed silver medals in seven events and bronze in six events.

Stand out gold medal performers include:

  • Laura Trott who defended her titles in the women's cycling team pursuit and omnium events.

  • Mo Farah in the 10,000m and 5,000m.

  • Gymnast Max Whitlock's gold medals in the men's floor and pommel horse adding to his bronze in the team all-round event.
