Man arrested after double shooting in Essex

A 22-year-old man is in police custody following a double shooting in Essex in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Two men in their twenties are in hospital being treated for gunshot wounds to their upper body following the shooting in Canvey.

Essex Police were called to the scene at around 3.30am in the morning of Saturday August 6, to reports of a firearms incident in Somnes Avenue. The victims' injuries are not considered to be life threatening.

The suspect, from Canvey, is currently being questioned.

Witnesses or anyone with information are asked to call officers at Southend CID on 101.
