Hendon woman in court over disappearance of baby last seen in 2004
A women charged in connection with the disappearance of a baby who has not been seen for more than 11 years has been remanded in custody.
Victoria Gayle, 31, of no fixed address, appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Monday charged with preventing a lawful and decent burial and perverting the course of justice.
She was remanded in custody to appear at Kingston Crown Court on July 8
An investigation was launched by detectives over the disappearance of a baby born in Barnet in 2004.
During a search of a property in Fryent Crescent, Hendon, human remains – believed to be that of a child – were found.
A post-mortem could not establish the cause of death, with further tests which could take weeks to be carried out.
A 50-year-old woman and a 52-year-old man arrested on suspicion of preventing a lawful and decent burial have been bailed until July.
