A man is fighting for his life after being hit by a hail of bullets in east London.

Police believe the 31-year-old was shot at more than 12 times with an automatic weapon.

Detectives are trying to work out how the gunman travelled to and from the scene of the shooting in Beatrice Close, Plaistow.

He is thought to be an Asian man aged between 30 and 40, of large build and wearing a grey hooded top.
