150 people evacuated from hotel in Earls Court after fire breaks out

A fire broke out at a hotel in Earls Court last night. Ten fire engines and 72 firefighters attended the hotel on Trebovir Road.

The second floor of the hotel was damaged by the fire, three quarters of the third floor and all the roof was also damaged. Around 150 people were evacuated from the hotel and neighbouring hotels. 12 people were rescued from inside the building by firefighters. There were no reported injuries.

Crews were called at around 9.45pm and the fire was put out by officers by 3am the following morning. Fire crews from Kensington, Fulham, Paddington, Battersea, North Kensington, Hammersmith and Chelsea fire stations attended the incident.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
