A south east London pub has changed its name in a stunt to help punters get behind England at Euro 2016.

The Golden Lion in Broadway Bexleyheath has been renamed The Three Lions until England’s exit from the tournament.

It means the usual Golden Lion signage has been replaced by The Three Lions.

The sign includes images of the national side's stars like Wayne Rooney, Gary Cahill and Joe Hart, according to Newsshopper.

According to NewesFormer England manager Terry Venables said: “Fans should visit their local pub and get behind the team in what promises to be a hugely exciting summer.”

The plan is part of Carlsberg’s "Pubstitutions" campaign.
