Man charged after supermarket stabbings

A man has been charged with four attempted murders after a number of women were attacked in a supermarket car park.

60 year old Ethem Aydin Orhon, of Deacons Walk, Hampton, will appear in custody at Wimbledon Magistrates' Court later.

He is charged with four counts of attempted murder and one of possession of an offensive weapon.

Police were called around 10.30am on Friday to the car park, which is on The Avenue in Hampton outside a branch of Sainsbury's.

Four women, aged between 53 and 71, were found with stab injuries. The women were treated at the scene by London Ambulance Service. One woman was then airlifted to hospital while the others were taken by road.

The women all remain in hospital in a stable condition.
