Prison staff return to work at Wormwood Scrubs after walkout
Prison staff have returned to work at Wormwood Scrubs after protesting about health and safety concerns.
Staff demonstrated outside the prison on Friday after a spate of alleged assaults by inmates.
But a Ministry of Justice spokesman said the staff have now returned to work.
Last month, an inspection reported sparked claims of “Dickensian squalor” at the west London prison.
Mike Rolfe, of the Prison Officers' Association, said there had been a number of assaults on staff, while so-called "legal highs" were said to have been thrown over the walls.
He told the Press Association the jail was "flooded with drugs, mobile phones and weapons".
