Tube map with a difference produced to mark Shakespeare's 400th birthday
Hop on the ‘Villains and Rivals' Line and get off at Lady Macbeth – London’s Tube map has had a William Shakespeare-inspired overhaul.
The map has been produced to mark the 400th anniversary of the playwright’s death.
Each line has been given its own theme, from ‘Lovers’ for the Central Line to ‘Fools’ for the Victoria line.
The Northern Line has been named ‘Villains and Rivals’ on the map, while the Bakerloo Line honours ‘Heroines’.
Each Tube stop has been named after a related character, play or theatre synonymous with Shakespeare.
So if you are a regular user of Embankment, it has become Macbeth, while Bank is renamed Elizabeth I.
Transport for London has teamed up with Shakespeare’s Globe to produce the map, which is available to pre-order.
Shakespeare is believed to have died on April 23 1616.
