Arsenal and England midfielder Jack Wilshere has strongly denied allegations of assault outside a nightclub in London's West End. Wilshere was photographed allegedly caught up in a street brawl; in the early hours of Sunday morning outside Café de Paris.

ITV News London has learnt that Arsenal football club take a ‘dim view’ of the matter and will be speaking to the midfielder about the incident.

Wilshere who has been plagued with injury is yet to feature for the Gunners this season and there has been much speculation about whether he will be included in the England squad for Euro 2016 in France.

It’s is not the first time the player has been embroiled in controversy:

  • In 2010 he was arrested for being involved in a braw outside a nightclub and was eventually cautioned.

  • In 2015 he was caught on camera at a London nightclub holding a Shisha pipe and in the same year he apologised after making a foul mouthed, anti-Tottenham chant during the Arsenal FA cup victory parade.

It is understood that Jack Wilshere is likely to face a fine – with the club investigating the matter internally.
