An Uber passenger was charged £102 for what should have been a four-mile trip, after he fell asleep and was taken on a 20-mile detour.

Daniel Kaizen booked a cab for a trip across Hackney – from Old Street to Clapton.

But after drunkenly nodding off, he ended up with a hefty charge when the driver went in the wrong direction towards Barking, before following the North Circular to Clapton.

He wrote on Facebook: "Well, I was drunk, butDAAAAAAAMN UBER £105, for a £15 journey."
