Body found by Welsh cliffs is Essex teenager
A body found in west Wales has been confirmed as that of a teenager from Essex who had been reported missing after visiting the area.
Patrick 'Paddy' Dear had been on Year 12 Geography field trip to Dale Fort with The Campion School, a Catholic Science Academy based in Hornchurch.
His body was found at the bottom of the cliffs at Dale Point. The Welsh Coast Guard and Police confirmed he was found early on Friday. His family has been informed.
The Campion School's headmaster Mr K Williams paid tribute to Paddy on the school's website.
Mr Williams said the school was offering support to his friends through counselling and guidance from staff and priests. The school has also held a special Mass for the Sixth Form to remember Paddy and to pray for his family and friends.
Dyfed Powys Police said they were continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death and have appealed for anyone who was in the Dale area late on Thursday to get in touch.
