Baby injured after moped slams into mum pushing buggy
A baby was injured when a moped slammed into a mum pushing a buggy, police have said.
Detectives are appealing for witnesses after a moped collided with a mother who was pushing her baby in a buggy in East Ham.
The mother, a woman aged in her 20s, was pushing her nine-month old baby boy in his buggy as they attempted to cross Lonsdale Avenue.
A moped, driving west along the road, collided with the buggy knocking it over.
London Ambulance Service attended and the baby was taken to an east London hospital for treatment to a head injury - he has since been transferred to a central London hospital.
His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
The baby's mother suffered minor injuries.
The moped failed to stop at the scene.
Witnesses have stated that, immediately prior to the collision, the moped was pulling wheelies and driving at speed.
Officers were called at approximately 4.15pm on Friday, March 4 reports of the collision in Lonsdale Avenue.
