Family of Milly Dowler given harrowing details of daughter's last hours
More than a decade after their daughter's death the Dowler family were given these harrowing details of their daughter's last hours.
At the time they were told not to tell anyone about the new information because the police were investigating the possibility of an accomplice.
Last month Surrey police revealed they had arrested and questioned a 40 year old man but he was released without charge due to lack of evidence.
The Dowler family statement reveals that when Bellfield decided to confess he would only speak to a female officer.
He then detailed how he had abducted Milly in March 2002 as she left the Walton on Thames Station and subjected her to 14 hours of sexual abuse and torture.
He was already in jail serving sentences for murdering Amelie Delagrange and Marsha McDonnell and the attempted murder of Kate Sheedy when he went on trial accused of killing Milly.
The Dowler family say they believe the public should know what Bellfield did to their beautiful daughter.
