£10,000 reward offered for information on suspect in teen's murder

Detectives are offering a £10,000 reward for any information that leads to the arrest of a teenager who is suspected of murder.

Aaron Alexander Tavares-Gaiete, 16, is being treated as a suspect in the murder of 16-year-old Munashe Charles Kutyauripo, known as Charlie, who was stabbed to death on Saturday 9th January.

Charlie, pictured above, had been at a 16th birthday party in the social club at Ashton Playing Fields, off Chigwell Road, on that Saturday evening.

He was seen to leave the party about 9.35pm with someone that police now believe to be Aaron.

Outside the club Charlie was involved in an altercation with Aaron whilst four other teenage boys looked on. Charlie was stabbed once in the chest and later died.

Aaron was seen to run away from the social club and was last seen in Snakes Lane East, Woodford.

On Friday, 15th January detectives named him as a suspect.They have since been trying to find him, but at this stage the last confirmed sighting of him is in the Stratford area on Saturday, 10th January.

Aaron is described as black, 5ft 10ins tall, of slim build with facial hair. When last seen, he was wearing a dark hooded jacket with a yellow motif on the left sleeve, dark coloured trousers and trainers. He was also carrying a distinctive black 'man bag' with a white Nike logo.

Charlie's brother Dennis said for his family, his death was impossible to move on from, because they didn't know why it had happened.

The Metropolitan Police has offered a £10,000 reward to trace Aaron Tavares-Gaiete and said it could provide support and confidentiality for anyone worried about speaking to the police.

Four people have been arrested and bailed in connection with Charlie's death.

Two 17-year-old boys were arrested on suspicion of murder at separate addresses in east London on 16th January. Both have since been bailed until late in February.

On 18th January, two men both aged 18 were arrested on suspicion of murder and bailed to a date early March.
