Transport for London has announced children under 11 will be able to travel for free on rail services in the capital.

The move came into force yesterday as part of the fare changes across TfL services. Children aged between 5 and 10 will need a Zip Oyster photocard to identify themselves and the free travel will not apply on high-speed services between St Pancras and Stratford.

The photocards can be applied for online though there is an administration fee of £10.
