Seventh man arrested after Mitcham murder

A seventh man has now been arrested over the murder of a man in Mitcham.

Police were called to a large fight near Holborn Way around 7pm on Monday evening. A 26 year old man was found nearby suffering from serious head injuries and died later in hospital. He has not yet been formally identified.

A 25 year old man was arrested yesterday and is being questioned by police on suspicion of murder. Six other men aged between 21 and 40 have already been arrested and bailed.

Two men aged 26 and 29 are in hospital receiving treatment for serious injuries, though they are not believed to be life threatening.

Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact them.
