Police officer, 38, dies after collapsing in Trafalgar Square

A police officer has died after collapsing in Trafalgar Square on the way home from a night shift.

The 38 year old officer was found around 6am yesterday morning. Paramedics tried to revive him and took him to a hospital in South London, where he later died.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said the officer had suddenly become unwell and the death is not being treated as suspicious. His family have been informed.
