Armed police called to Tooting Broadway after man 'armed with scissors threatens passengers'

Armed police were called to Tooting Broadway station today after reports of a man 'armed with scissors threatening passengers'. The station was evacuated shortly before 1pm as police searched the area.

Speaking to the Evening Standard, one witness said:

The man was never found and police were stood down.
