Two young Londoners have come up with a novel way of helping the increasing number of street-sleeping homeless people across the capital.

Charlotte Cramer and Scarlett Montanaro have opened the London's first shop for the homeless in Kingsland Road in Dalston.

The pop-up store will be open until the end of the month and sells a number of essential items that are then donated to those in need in time for Christmas.

The pair have been overwhelmed by the response, and have already had thousands of purchases.

The idea came from wanting to help those sleeping rough in a practical way without giving cash.
