Boy, 17, stabbed to death in broad daylight as hundreds of children leave school for the day

A teenager has been stabbed to death in broad daylight as hundreds of pupils left school for the day.

Police rushed to the scene in Acton in West London after reports of a stabbing at 11.50am on Friday morning.

A 17-year-old boy was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead.Another 17-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody.

Labour councillor Daniel Crawford told the Evening Standard that the incident happened as children from two local schools left for the day.

Detective Chief Inspector Rebecca Reeves appealed for witnesses who saw an argument outside a cafe on Crown Street to come forward.

"Crown Street would have been a busy at the time of the stabbing and we are appealing for any witnesses, or anyone with any information, that was in or around the area to contact us.

We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who saw or heard an argument outside a café on Crown Street."
