Sex offender absconds from mental health unit

Police are urgently asking the public for information after a convicted sex offender escaped from a secure mental health unit.

52 year old John White, who has a prosthetic ear, was last seen yesterday evening at around 5pm, in the grounds of the North London Clinic on Church Street in Edmonton.

Police say anyone who sees him must not approach him and instead call 999 for a current sighting, or 101 for past sightings or any information on his whereabouts.

He has links to South East London and was last seen wearing a green jacket, black t-shirt, black jogging bottoms and trainers.
