Zac Goldsmith: Stop and search pendulum has swung too far
Conservative mayoral candidate Zac Goldsmith said he believes the new rules on stop and search powers have "disempowered" the police, saying "the pendulum has swung too far".
Speaking at the last day of the Conservative Party Conference to LBC's he said he was happy that Bernard Hogan-Howe was continuing his role of Commissioner of the Police, but warned he was facing tough challenges due to the spike in knife crimes across the capital.
He was appearing with Boris Johnson, whom he praised as a "magnificent mayor".
