The shortlist for the ugliest buildings in the country has been finalised with four of them coming from London.

The Carbuncle Cup 2015 honours mediocre architecture which blights rather than improves where we live.

The shortlist was drawn up by Building Design magazine but it is unlikely they can be any more scornful than some of the readers' comments which we've included below.

A hot favourite to win the worst building prize is the Walkie Talkie which enraged the most people online, if you go by comment numbers alone.

In fact, the building is a record breaker already with the most nominations for the prize by the public.

Next up is a development was so hated by resident Jonathan Notley he actually stood for Parliament campaigning against inappropriate development.

It is now student accommodation for Imperial College and some residential flats.

This building is used by the YMCA with critics saying it has more in common with a detention centre than the face of an organisation which helps disillusioned young people.

They charity also have the Georgian villa next door which creates a bit of a contrast.

This block of flats in Black Prince Road has been criticised for not taking its surroundings into consideration at all.

It towers over two listed buildings and has been likened to a barcode.
