Last-minute talks held in bid to avert Tube strikes
London Underground bosses will meet with rail union leaders today in a bid to strike a deal over the new 24-hour Tube service.
The 11th hour talks at conciliation service Acas have been agreed ahead of two 24-hour strikes by London Underground workers this week, the first of which begins on Tuesday and is expected to cause travel chaos in the capital.
The executive of the Rail, Maritime and Transport union, which said on Friday it would "review its position" over the weekend, will meet after the Acas talks to decide whether to call off the strikes.
Unite and the Transport Salaried Staffs Association are also involved in the dispute.
