Top baby names for London revealed

The most popular name for a baby boy born in London last year was Muhammad, according to the Office of National Statistics (ONS).

For girls, it was Amelia.

The annual popularity list shows London continues bucks the trend when it comes to naming boys.

In most other regions across the UK, Oliver was the top choice closely followed by Jack.

Here's the top 10 list for boy names in London for 2014.

For girls born in London last year, the most popular names were:

  • Amelia

  • Olivia

Across England and Wales combined, Oliver and Amelia were the most popular names.

Amelia has been in the number one spot since 2011 while Oliver has been in top spot since 2013.
