Only two areas left in London with an average house price of under £300,000

House prices across London have increased yet again over the past 12 months - with the average house going up by 9.2% in the past year,

The average home in London is now worth a staggering £481,820, according to new figures out from the Land Registry - more than double the average of £181,619 for homes across England and Wales.

Kensington and Chelsea is still the area where houses are the most expensive - but the rate of increase was only 0.7% over the past year - one of the lowest across the city.

Most London boroughs seen prices increase by double figures, and the there are only two areas across the whole of the city where the average house price is lower than £300,00.

Barking and Dagenham is now London's most affordable borough, with an average house price of £278,604.

Next best is Bexley, where the average price is £292,804.
