Commuting in the capital can be hot, sticky and not much fun, but all that's changed at King's Cross today thanks to a giant yellow water slide that's opened to the public.

Londoners have been cooling off on the 100-metre inflatable slip-and-slide, which has gone up next to the famous train station as part of a two-day stunt by Lipton Ice Tea.

The adults-only event started at 7:30am this morning and will close at 7:30pm.

Londoners can start the soaking again at 9am tomorrow until 9pm in the evening.

The organisers said that there is no need to book and anyone who already has tickets for the slide will be able to join a priority line.
