World's last airworthy Vulcan bomber to appear over London and Essex in farewell tour
The world's last airworthy Vulcan bomber is to appear in the skies over London and Essex as part of a farewell tour.
The iconic Cold War jet is due to be grounded later this year on safety grounds.
The aircraft has made regular appearances at airshows all over Britain in recent years after supporters raised millions of pounds to keep it flying.
The organisation which operates the Vulcan has announced two nationwide tours at the end of June.
The aircraft will fly over Hendon in north London and Southend in Essex on Sunday June the 28th.
The two locations were chosen because they are home to 'sister' aircraft. A Vulcan bomber is preserved in the RAF Museum at Hendon and another has been restored by volunteers at Southend Airport.
