Newspaper mistakes Labour MP for a former President of Sierra Leone

Despite securing a huge majority in Tottenham at the General Election it seems not everyone knows who David Lammy is - including his local paper.

The Haringey Independent managed to mix up the re-elected MP with a former President of Sierra Leone. Julius Maada Bio briefly took power after leading a military coup almost two decades ago.

The paper also added an extra letter to Ed Miliband's surname, turning him into 'Ed Milliband'.

The Haringey Independent was running a story about whether David Lammy was eyeing up the job as Labour leader.

He has since ruled himself out, saying he was concentrating on his bid to be selected as candidate for London mayor.
