A Yorkshire Terrier was found cruelly dumped in an alleyway in the middle of giving birth. The RSPCA says the dog was discovered by a passer-by during a difficult labour. She was taken to a vet for an emergency caesarian.
Four out of five puppies - three girls and a boy - were born safely, one sadly died. The animal was discovered behind Mayfield Road in Dunstable, Bedfordshire on Sunday.
The RSPCA called the mum May, after Mayfield Road where she was found. They also kept the spring theme going by naming the puppies Tulip, Iris, Bluebell and Oak.
