New images reveal how thieves drilled through thick concrete wall during audacious heist

New images released today show the huge hole drilled by thieves during the audacious Hatton Garden jewellery heist.

The images show how thieves used a powerful drill to break into the room containing safety deposit boxes in central London.

The vault was covered in dust and debris and the floor was strewn with discarded safety deposit boxes and power tools, including an angle grinder, concrete drills and crowbars.

The hole is 50cm deep, 25cm high, and 45cm wide and sits 89cm from the floor.
