Bride stole from colleagues to pay for lavish wedding
A woman has been sentenced to 15 month in prison, suspended for two years, for stealing £22,262 by using her colleagues’ personal bank cards to pay for her lavish wedding and honeymoon.
31 year old Gabriella Saunders from Camberwell made seven bank transactions using two of her colleague’s personal bank cards.
The money was used to pay for her wedding on 20th September 2014 in Dulwich. This included the wedding venue, flowers, watch repairs, a number of clothing items including bikinis and a honeymoon to the Seychelles.
She started temping as a personal assistant in June 2014 at an investment management company based in the City.
She was a personal assistant to one of her victims stealing £16,990 by making six transactions using two of his personal bank cards.
The other victim worked in the same office as Saunders and had £5272.00 stolen from a single bank card transaction.
Saunders and her new husband were arrested by police as they stepped off the plane from their honeymoon at Heathrow airport in October.
Her husband was later released with no further action.
