Family of murdered imam make desperate plea for help
The son of an imam found with multiple gunshot wounds in a parked car has made a desperate appeal for the public's help finding who murdered his father.
Abdulhadi Arwani, 48, was found slumped over the wheel of his black VW Passat in Greenhill, Wembley on Tuesday.
The investigation has been taken over by counter-terrorism police from the Met's murder squad due to the "international dimensions" of the case.
It is believed Mr Arwani was a critic of the Syrian President Bashar Assad.
Two days before he was murdered, Mr Arwani was seen driving near to where he was found dead.
He parked up in Havenwood mid-morning on Sunday and remained there for a "short while" according to police.
A post-mortem examination took place at Northwick Park Hospital on Thursday where the cause of death was given as gun shot wounds.
The precise cause of death is yet to be determined by the coroner.
An inquest will be opened and adjourned at Barnet Coroners Court in the coming days.
