Rowers training for the University Boat Race had to be rescued after they sank on the Thames.

The crew from Oxford University's Women's Boat Club got into trouble while training in choppy conditions.

Their boat was swamped with water from three large waves and the rowers found themselves sinking.

They were rescued by the RNLI lifeboat based at Chiswick.
