Ukip candidate quits after comparing President Obama to a Nazi war criminal and urges his 'kidnap'

A Ukip candidate who called on the Israelis to 'kidnap' President Obama has resigned.

Jeremy Zeid likened the president to Nazi war criminal Adolf Eichmann who was abducted by Israeli agents in 1960 and later hanged.

Mr Zeid made his comments in a Facebook message after the US declassified documents about Israel's secret nuclear programme.

Mr Zeid was Ukip's candidate in the ultra-marginal seat of Hendon in North London where the Conservatives are defending a majority of 106.The party confirmed today Mr Zeid had resigned.

Mr Zeid, a former Conservative in Harrow, councillor, told ITV News he stood by his comments.
